According to reporter Shams Charania, sources say the Brooklyn Nets have received trade inquiries and have had exploratory talks regarding forwards Cameron Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and guard Dennis Schröder.
The Nets have accumulated a significant amount of salary cap space and flexible assets—over $60 million in projected salary cap space for next summer, along with 12 first-round picks and 11 second-round picks—preparing for the future.
After trading Mikal Bridges to the Knicks last summer, the Nets have been viewed as sellers in the trade market.
Sources reveal that the Golden State Warriors are one of the teams expressing interest in these three players. The 31-year-old Schröder has been playing well this season, earning $13 million and averaging 18.6 points and 6.5 assists per game.
Rival teams believe the Warriors are willing to use the expiring $12.8 million contract of injured guard De’Anthony Melton, along with draft picks, to facilitate a potential deal within that salary range.
